Surrendering the American Dream

Are you a parent, friend or supporter of someone who feels conviction to move overseas…and you’re confused or afraid to let them go? Are you someone feeling the pull to give your life to love and serve overseas full-time but you can’t quite imagine how to surrender a few things that have your heart? Are you a church leader trying to help your people see a more eternal story than the one they are living? This training will be useful if you want to:
- Be inspired to surrender the good life to gain the life God has for you or someone you care about.
- Practice ways to walk forward with open hands in important matters of finances, personal desires, and safety.
- Come to grips in your own mind, and for the sake of the ones you love, that the “foolish” decisions you might make in the eyes of the world are indeed “wise” in the eyes of God.
Based on her newly released book Across the Street and Around the World: Following Jesus to the Nations in Your Neighborhood….and Beyond, Jeannie will discuss ways to process the struggle of surrendering good things like wealth, financial security, comfort and safety to move overseas.
